▲ ENDLESS SUMMER

The Sunset Sessions had an epic classic surf-inspired adventure along the Central California coast with amazing and beautiful ladysliders, Farrah Kemp and Kyra Joseph. Farrah and Kyra are two fabulous competitive surfers from Santa Cruz who possess some pretty timeless style and radical classic longboarding skills.
I'm proud to feature the most recent collection of rare and unique original 1960s vintage swim bathing suits from The Sunset Sessions' latest swimwear release—modeled by both of these two fabulous ladies.
This shoot took place on a very misty and overcast weekend along Coastal Santa Cruz County; the moody environment and lighting helped set the tone for the photography x art direction style which was inspired by classic 50s and 60s swimwear shoots as well as vintage pin-up style fashion. The idea was to fuse these earlier cultural fashion & photography style references with current contemporary poses and perspectives of fashion (more specifically, swimwear) shoots. In the interest of The Sunset Sessions' values of sharing true authentic and original curation—having the wardrobe modeled by real badass lady surfers who possess natural beauty, style, and character was another mandatory...Farrah and Kyra totally rocked it, bringing these amazing suits out from the closet and into the spotlight.

All featured wardrobe items from this shoot are now open to public sale:

▲ SALVAGED STYLE

The Sunset Sessions has had the fortune to cross paths and work with some fantastic jewelry designers lately, and is proud to feature the most recent collection from IADORNU designed by Mary Beth Heishman in latest lookbook "Hot Mess."
Mary Beth Heishman is a fantastically talented young woman based out of Las Vegas, NV who creates jewelry from recycled vintage materials and incorporates a bit of old classic nostalgic finds from past—fused with modern embellishments.
Her latest collection(featured above in images from The Sunset Sessions latest lookbook) includes a convergence of used .357 shell casings with shiny rare crystals and beautiful old chains from old vintage metal antiques. They are incredibly eye-catching, magically unique and convey a fantastic design aesthetic which merges both an old & rugged style with contemporary elegance and femininity.
This shoot took place in a very dry and desolate rural Valley setting in East California, including an incredible location at an old salvage yard. I felt these locations (as well as the wardrobe) would allow the model, jewelry and wardrobe/styling to become immersed in the background environments and further become a representation of the elements which represent Heishman’s jewelry & brand aesthetic. The wardrobe was a combination of old original 60s & 70s California ranchwear vintage leather clothing as well as delicate crochet knitwear from a limited-edition collection from Australian designer KIVARI.
