▲ OCEAN-INSPIRED

New coastal magazine, Tidal, promotes youth culture & ocean conservation...

I was lucky to receive a special sneak preview copy of the brand new Tidal Magazine to review;
it is a truly lovely perfect-bound premium printed magazine designed with a clean, contemporary aesthetic and fresh coastal vibe portraying youth action sports & fashion lifestyle.

Tidal Magazine was created with two goals; to highlight the talents of exceptional youth, and all funds raised will go towards supporting, raising awareness for ocean conservation.

Tidal's content is non-exclusive and wide-ranging, but particularly features surf, skate, art, fashion, music and culture, predominantly pertaining to young people making tracks within their chosen field.

Created by two young ladies, Jess and Taylah, in a coastal town, who consider the wellbeing of the ocean and ensuring the talents of their generation are noticed, as topics that demand importance. The content of Tidal has been carefully pieced together by a great number of talented individuals, and once published, every cent generated in profits will be donated to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society to aid vital ocean conservation.

Tidal is a huge assembly of young people making things happen.

▲ GET BY WITH A LIL' HELP FROM MY FRIENDS

(1960s photo by LeRoy Grannis)

I'm very excited to officially share that I'm bringing on a couple fantastically talented & wonderful creative professionals to help assist with expanding operations/services of The Sunset Sessions

Each of us women bring to the table a long history of combined professional experience in: commercial advertising & photography, design, fashion, action sports and we are extremely passionate about boardriding and/or photography, vintage culture, fashion, music, DIY and are very proud Californians.

I'm extremely stoked to expand our business offerings into an area which I'm most passionate about and have dreamed of doing for a while—we will be publicly offering art direction & vintage/customized styling (as well as continued collaborative) services via The Sunset Sessions...the vintage items avail in online shop moving forward will be items associated with: photo editorials, partner designer or photographer collabs and The Sunset Sessions' original customized vintage/revamped designs. We will continue to offer a more select group of new screenprinted knit items which are only handscreened locally/100% California-made in ltd quantities to keep more exclusivity.

My interests moving forward are to provide an authentic, individualistic California/vintage lifestyle creative service—as well as clothing which stands behind those values of pure authenticity, originality and California culture; and to help promote & encourage authentic California talent in the process.

Thanks your support and stoke; hope you continue to enjoy what we have in store for the future... xx

Happy Friday; have a fabulous weekend!

About The Extra Mile:
The Extra Mile Organization was conceived after founder and CEO, Matt Dimmer, discovered his father was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2011. Matt lived in Los Angeles and his father lived in Chicago. So, Matt and his wife found themselves traveling back and forth between the two cities numerous times to spend every possible minute of life with Matt's father.

After his passing, Matt realized how fortunate they were to have had the opportunity to travel to spend time with his ill father; he wondered then how difficult it would be for others to spend quality time with, be physically present for, cancer-diagnosed family members in separate locations—if they did not have the financial means to travel to be with them. This notion then sparked Matt's drive and passion to create The Extra Mile organization.
This organization's mission is to give those who cannot afford to travel the opportunity to visit their loved ones dying of cancer, so they can cherish the last holiday, weekend, day, minute, second… together.
In Matt’s father's last days and beyond, stories came pouring back to him, how his dad — as a father, coach, friend, neighbor — always went the extra mile to help anyone in need. So the name, The Extra Mile, just beautifully fell into place.
This special t-shirt is designed to incorporate The Extra Mile
organization of California's mission focused in travel, and being able to go "the extra mile" fused with The Sunset Sessions' spirit of classic vintage, surf, California culture. The volkswagon is an iconic visual symbol of love and happiness to so many people—this tee was designed to help spread the good, happy, classic Cali coastal vibes and love to those who wear it, see it.
Both of these fine 100% cotton t-shirts are made in Los Angeles by American Apparel.
Hand-screened with environmentally-friendly, non-toxic aqua screenprinting ink in San Francisco.
