▲ DOIN' THE BRITTNEY PANDA

Much of the vintage clothing from The Sunset Sessions collection has very unique stories to tell: many of these garments were pre-loved in 60s, 70s, California among wandering artists, hippies, musicians, surfers...worn or traded at Dead shows, handcrafted on beaches or simply well-made in small runs right in California in a time before things were mass-produced overseas in factories—many of the special treasures shared are more than just garments on a rack. Here's very talented artist Brittney Panda (http://brittneypanda.com/ or @BrittneyPanda on Instagram) wanderlusting around the California coast, bringing some of that 1960s vibe back to life in a very special suede leather fringe jacket in photo by Laura Austin for Live Fast Mag | http://livefastmag.com

If you are not familiar with the work of this amazingly talented young artist from the East Coast, Brittney Panda, I highly recommend you check out some of her fantastic, hauntingly beautiful self-portraits. Brittney is a dedicated artist who totes her camera(s) around to various unique settings nearly everyday, in search of obscure locations in nature (or sometimes fascinating, private property which creatively 'becons' her to incorporate into her work. She spends an incredible amount of time carefully bringing these surreal images to life to share with others.
Here are a few of her amazing, inspiring self-portraits:

▲ THE WORK WEEK vs. THE WEEKEND

HAPPY HUMP DAY.

(Being that it's Wednesday and the half-way point to the weekend—I figured I'd share a style post which is a casual weekend vs. workday outfit spin on two looks which incorporate some of the same items of clothing.)

(THE WEEKEND.)
Ready to cruise the sun-soaked beachfront with beers in hand, this look is all about: casual, comfortable, cool (and cheap.) Perfect for that "giving a care but not looking like I do" slacker Sundayfunday mode...this is it.
Last weekend, I did a little thrifting myself and picked up a size L striped blue/white turtleneck from Goodwill for only $3. I actually cut off the sleeves and created a boat-neck style from the neck. Wala! There you have a perfect oversized, super soft, comfy striped one-shoulder tee (add a tank underneath if that's your thing.)
Levi's 501 cutoff vintage shorts are available from The Sunset Sessions shop.
And so is the custom black vintage leather cuff in 'The Hook' model.
Socks are 19" Skatersocks navy tube socks, worn with low chucks.
Throw in an old skateboard and bagged can of PBR...you are cruising.
If you get chilly at sundown—an old vintage denim Levi's jacket, hoodie or beat up black leather moto jacket totally rocks with this look.

(THE WEEKDAY.)
This look is a more polished upgrade from the weekend look; still super comfortable, yet suitable for professional office environments—and with enough of a unique twist that it doesn't feel too office blah, blah, boring, cliche.
Basically, you take the same modified striped tee made for the weekend, and, use it as a baselayer to add an old vintage denim chambray shirt, layered on top with an old classic vintage camel leather jacket. (The one pictured here is a very special 1970s reversible leather jacket from Spain. Totally insane.)
Add a pair of skinny bootleg dark indigo vintage or selvege denim, and a pair of camel vintage leather boots. (Pictured here, are old 7forAllMankind super skinny indigo jeans and vintage ALDO boots.)
The matching camel brown leather cuff is a custom handmade design available from The Sunset Sessions

▲ SUNDAY SUNSET SESSIONS

Most definitely a magical sunset (surf) session went down tonight, however, I'm not really sure I'd technically classify it as a true "sunset" sesh...S.F. was up to it's typical Summer gloom antics and socked in the bay with heavy pea soup fog in full force--alas, the swell did not disappoint.

Hope you had a beautiful and peaceful weekend as well!

Have a great week ahead... xx
